Why Massage Therapy?
Massage therapy is an effective way of decreasing stress hormones like cortisol, and can stimulate your parasympathetic nervous system which is your “rest and digest” system, and decrease your sympathetic nervous system which is your “fight or flight” system. It also assists with circulation and lymphatic flow, thus, improving immune function. It can decrease tension and other physical discomforts, including headaches and migraines, can improve sleep quality, help with digestion and constipation, help with depression and anxiety, and overall is a great way to improve relaxation.

For pregnancy, it’s good to incorporate throughout your whole pregnancy, if no concerns arise with your primary health provider. Since your body goes through major changes in a short 9 months, some common physical and mental/emotional changes often arise. Prenatal massage can help keep stress hormones down, help decrease headaches, back ache and other musculoskeletal discomforts, assist in decreasing swelling and improving circulation, and last but not least, it can be a good relaxing experience for you and baby.

Infant and children’s massage is a great way to promote a relaxing experience for your littles. It can be a great way of bonding with baby. Massage therapy can be very helpful with colic, gas and constipation. Some studies have even shown that massage can help promote growth in babies that were born preterm. In addition to that, it can promote improved circulation, improved immune function, improve sleep quality and calm the nervous system.

As far back as history is recounted, women attended women in childbirth. They provided a ministry of education to young women about their bodies, having children and healthy pregnancies. Childbearing women relied on their close-knit community of women to assist them in labour, birth and early care of their children. Today we call this childbirth professional a doula. The WOMB Doulas are a team of doulas and childbirth educators committed to providing expectant and new parents with exceptional emotional, physical, and educational nurturing, love and service. While under the care of a Midwife, Family Physician and/or Obstetrician, we provide support both in the home and/or in hospital, giving families the best care possible. It is our goal to increase confidence and decrease fears with respect for our clients, and their birth and parenting choices - allowing for a more positive, peaceful birth and postnatal experience.

Our Fertility Support Doulas are trained professionals who provide preconception support to individuals and their partners. Just as a birth doula brings non-medical, non-judgmental informational, emotional, and physical support to the time around labour and birth, a Fertility Support Doula brings that same model to preconception and (in)fertility.

Hello all, I’m Lindsay!

I’m a registered nurse psychotherapist, as well as a certified holistic nurse coach, and board certified lactation consultant.

As a nurse, my greatest joys have come from walking with my patients through the most beautiful and difficult moments of their lives. From the first breath to the last, and every in between, it’s changed me. Forever.

I know deeply that our healthcare system is trying its best, with limited resources.

I also know that by focusing primarily on our physical health, it has left many of us wondering how we then begin to address our desires for deeper healing.

I have a passion for working with women on their journey through fertility, birthing, and beyond. The largely invisible load on women doesn’t just impact mental wellbeing. It can seep into all areas of life - manifesting as physical, mental, and emotional dis-ease.

I believe that through care of the whole person - in mind, body, and spirit - we can unlock a new level of health and well-being.

I can’t wait to connect with you.
